Ricamando il Caos finissage

February 2024, Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum, Finissage of “Carolina Lombardi. Embroidering Chaos”

A transdisciplinary event was held at the Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum, bringing together scholars from different disciplines to engage, through complementary perspectives, with the theme of networks as a dynamic structure of the world.

The meeting examined the challenges and opportunities embedded in the many questions raised by contemporary life, fostering a dialogue among scientific practice, theoretical reflection, and artistic research. Carolina Lombardi presented to the public the various cultivation phases of Physarum polycephalum and the subsequent production of the timelapse video.

Participants included Franco Vazza, astrophysicist and lecturer at the University of Bologna; Valerio Eletti, physicist and president of the Complexity Education Project; Emanuele Belvilacqua, media analyst and Antonella Sbrilli, lecturer in Contemporary Art History at Sapienza University of Rome. The event was introduced and moderated by Dr. Maria Giuseppina Di Monte, Director of the H.C. Andersen Museum.
