Interesserre offers an immersive journey through the artist’s studio, moving among works and their genesis. The term, coined by Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, evokes the deep interconnection of all living beings with the universe. Web-like forms recall spider webs, the cosmic web and neural networks, suggesting meaning through connection rather than hierarchy.

Carolina Lombardi was invited by Professor Giorgio Vallortigara to CIMEC (University of Trento) in Rovereto to foster an interdisciplinary exchange between artistic research and neuroscience. During her stay, she visited mind-and-cognition laboratories and presented her work, thereby opening a dialogue between art and science.

In March 2025, Carolina Lombardi was invited by Professor Antonella Sbrilli (Sapienza University of Rome) to present her artistic research on reticular structures in nature and the relationships between phenomena to students. The talk took place as part of the MA course in Contemporary Art History.

At the Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum, a transdisciplinary event brought together scholars from different fields to explore networks as a dynamic structure of the world. The discussion connected scientific practice, theory and artistic research. Carolina Lombardi presented the cultivation phases of Physarum polycephalum and the making of a time-lapse video, with contributions from Franco Vazza, Valerio Eletti, Emanuele Belvilacqua and Antonella Sbrilli.

For the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum presented the second edition of “Noi per Voi”. As part of the programme, Carolina Lombardi led a talk tour introducing her exhibition project “Embroidering Chaos”, reflecting on embroidery and weaving as symbols of an interconnected reality.

In March 2023, Carolina Lombardi took part in the art action “Ecce Dominus”, staged in the cloister garden of the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Rome and curated by Laura Facchini with Windmill Art Power Plant. As part of the Pasolini programme marking the centenary of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s birth, the performance created a dialogue between word, matter and space.
